On October 3-5, 2014, the Research and Documentation Museum of Traditional Instruments ¨Thyrathen¨ organizes at the Apollonia Hotel the 1st International Ethnomusicological Conference on "URBAN MUSIC IN CRETE FROM THE CRETAN STATE TO THE EXCHANGE OF POPULATIONS AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO COMMUNITIES."
The proceedings of the conference are open to the public, free of charge.

Ross Daly: "The relationship between Cretan music and the makams"
Giorgos Mavromanolakis: "Techniques of contemporary songs The seminar is primarily aimed at musicians and students of the Cretan Lyra"
The cost for each seminar is €20.
