Harris Lambrakis:

Born and raised in Athens, he started playing music at a very young age under many good teachers. He graduated from the Music High School of Pallini and the Music Department of the University of Athens with direction in ethnomusicology. He was fortunate to collaborate with internationally renowned musicians such as Haig Yazdjian, Savina Yannatou, Michalis Siganidis, Ross Daly, Kostas Tatsakis, Periklis Papapetropoulos, Antonis Apergis, Bijan Chemirani, Michel Doneda and others. For the last 20 years he has been participating in recordings and concerts worldwide. He also teaches ney, giving seminars and masterclasses in Greece and abroad.

Periklis Papapetropoulos:

Was born in Athens and grew up in Heraklion, Crete. At the age of 16 he started studying music with Ross Daly, while playing the Cretan lute and the saz with Psarantonis. He soon became a member of the Labyrinth music group as a saz, tanbur and lavta (lute of Constantinople) player, meeting and collaborating in this context with many acknowledged musicians. He attended seminars about the saz by great teachers, initially Talip Özkan and subsequently Μehmet Erenler and Erdal Erzincan, and he studied saz playing techniques in relation to the Greek repertoire. He subsequently took up the lavta, studying and developing the instrument’s style and techniques, and teaching at the Labyrinth Musical Workshop in Houdetsi, Crete. He has participated in a multitude of concerts and recordings both in Greece and abroad, while in addition to his long experience in teaching the saz and the lavta, he has created a remarkable corpus of original compositions.
