Kostis Abyssinos meets Vangelis Vardakis at the Thyrathen Museum on Wednesday 05.02.2025 at 20:30. Two renowned, folk instrumentalists, driven by the roots of traditional Cretan music and carrying memories, experiences, sounds and colors from the music of the company and festivities, set up a musical performance, performing in their own unique way beloved Cretan tunes.

Vangelis Vardakis, a virtuoso on the violin, with a significant career in the field of traditional Cretan music, performs with particular sensitivity, aesthetics and precision the traditional tunes of Crete, especially of the East, his place of origin. In this performance he meets an ideally suited musical companion, Kostis Abyssinos, a virtuoso on the mandolin, lute and bulgari, son of the great violinist Giorgis Abyssinos and his musical partner for many decades, but also a distinguished artist for his personal career.
