The Museum of Traditional Instruments, Research & Documentation in Thyrathen in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and specifically with the Directorate of Newer Cultural Heritage is organizing a two-day seminar on instrument making.
More specifically, on Saturday and Sunday, October 26 & 27, an organization seminar will be held by Stelios Petrakis. Stelios Petrakis is a talented composer and instrument maker, who maintains an instrument manufacturing workshop in Heraklion, Crete, making lyres, lutes, bulgaria and other stringed musical instruments. His own creations are exhibited in musical instrument museums all over the world, such as in the "City of Music" in Paris, in Japan, France, Poland and also in the Thyrathen museum. Famous musicians from all over the world use his instruments, such as Ross Daly, Efren Lopez, Kelly Thoma, Les Claypool, Sean Lennon, Giorgis Xylouris.
The seminar will be two days long and will include both the theoretical part and the practical part.
The seminar is free of charge and is funded by the Ministry of Culture, specifically by the Directorate of New Cultural Heritage.
