The Thirathen Museum at the Lyric Stage

From the top of Psiloritis on the Alternative Stage of the National Opera in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, distinguished musicians and experienced instrument makers present the rich tradition of Crete in a two-day tribute to the legendary Anogia on May 26 and 27, 2018. The tribute "The sound of Anogeion" includes concerts and an exhibition by instrument makers from Crete, which will be hosted both days in the Foyer and in the VIP Lounge of the National Opera, where instruments from the Thyrathen Museum of Traditional Instruments Research and Documentation will also be exhibited

On the first day of the festival, the virtuoso mandolinist Michalis Kontaxakis will appear, together with Antonis Voumboulakis (electric classical guitar), Konstantinos Kalatzis (percussion), as well as the guitar virtuoso Christos Tzifakis. On the second day, the unique Xylouris White will appear, the dynamic duo of Giorgos Xylouris, or Psarogiorgis, and the Australian drummer of the Dirty Three, Jim White, with a great discography and appearances at the biggest festivals abroad.
